OCS

Board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, recognised by the American Physical Therapy Board of Specialties in 2017.

Alison achieved the status of Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2017, recognized by the American Physical Therapy Board of Specialties.

Orthopedic rehabilitation covers the joints, muscles and tendons — what most people picture when they think of physical therapy. Knees, shoulders, hips, backs. After an injury, after surgery, or after years of something quietly getting worse.

Where a surgeon has set a protocol, Alison works to it. Where there is room to move faster or slower, that decision is made from how you are actually moving, not from the calendar.

What orthopedic rehab looks like here

01
A full movement assessment

Not only the painful joint. How you load it, what compensates for it, and what has changed since.

02
Hands-on treatment
Manual therapy and, where useful, dry needling, chosen for your case rather than a protocol.
03
Progressive loading
Strength built deliberately, so the change holds after you stop coming.
04
Return to what you were doing
Progress measured against your goal, whether that is a staircase or a hockey season.

OCS — Orthopedic Clinical Specialist

A board certification held by a small fraction of practising physical therapists, achieved in 2017.
